What we offer
Group Tours
We have regular 45 minute group tours of the college backs running every day. The tour takes in the ¾ mile stretch of river from Jesus Green to Silver Street and includes a full guided commentary from one of our knowledgeable local guides. You can see the route on our map below.
Due to the seasonal nature of our business tours do not leave at set times. In the low season they may leave half hourly or even hourly while in the high season there will often be tours departing every 5-10 minutes.
Although we can not book you specific seats on these group tours we do offer discounted rates for advanced purchase via our E-Ticket system. On arrival at the station simply present your E-Ticket and you are guaranteed seats on the next available tour. To purchase E-Tickets please visit our bookings page.
Private Tours
For large groups or those who prefer a little privacy we are happy to offer private tours. These are usually the same format as our classic college backs tour but can also be customized to your requirements (see below for a few ideas and past requests).
Unlike our group tours a private tour guarantees your boat will be ready and waiting for you upon your arrival at the punt station. No waiting in line, no sharing with other passengers.
Although it is possible to purchase private tours on the day it is advisable to book in advance to ensure availability and receive a discounted rate. To make a reservation please visit our bookings page.
Location
Unless otherwise arranged our tours leave from the punt station adjacent to the "La Mimosa" restaurant on the edge of Jesus Green. The simplest way to get there is to travel to Magdalene Bridge at Quayside and follow the riverside walkway. There is a sales office for the punt station at Quayside and we're very easy to spot in our straw boaters.
The closest car park is a few minutes walk away at Park Street. There are regular buses from the railway station and the nearest bus stop is Bridge Street.
Bespoke trips
In addition to the classic college backs tour we regularly provide bespoke trips for special occasions:
Ever thought about taking a trip along the river at sunset, dusk or even after dark?
Perhaps you'd like a longer, more leisurely river tour or maybe you're pressed for time and would like a shorter trip?
Maybe you would like to be collected from a specific location other than the usual departure point? Or dropped of at a restaurant and picked up after the meal?
Would you like to propose to a loved one on a punt and have champagne to pop after you've popped the question?
How about a trip on the upper river (Granta) to the village of Grantchester? A one way trip to Grantchester takes between one and one and a half hours. We can also collect your from Grantchester and punt you to Cambridge.

Maybe you would like to be punted along the lower reaches of the Cam, perhaps passed the college boathouses, or maybe even further downstream to Fen Ditton and beyond?
Do you simply need someone to punt whilst you do some filming/photography?

Self hire
Please note, as the name suggests, we do not offer self hire punting. If you are looking to punt yourselves please contact one of the following:
Trinity Punts, Garret Hostel Lane (off Trinity Street) - access via Trinity college. College owned punts are available for hire
at a rate of around £12 per hour for self hire
Cambridge Chauffeur Punts, Silver Street Bridge. Despite the name this company also provide self hire punts at a rate of around £14 per hour during the week and £16 per hour at weekends.
Granta Boat & Punt Company, Newnham Road (by The Granta pub). Self hire punts at a rate of around £14 per hour.
